🔒Unlock for Good

Terms of Service

Draft last updated August 2026

⚠️ Draft for legal review — not yet reviewed by an attorney

Fundraising, payment processing and prize promotions are regulated, and the rules differ by state and country. Text in [SQUARE BRACKETS] is a fact that has not been filled in. Have counsel review and complete this document before accepting real donations.

These terms govern your use of Unlock for Good (the "Platform"), operated by [SPONSOR LEGAL NAME] ("we", "us"). By opening a challenge link, creating an account, donating, or publishing a fundraiser you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1.What Unlock for Good is

The Platform hosts fundraising challenges. An organizer publishes a campaign with a cause, a goal and optionally a prize promotion. A participant who opens a challenge link may either donate to unlock the campaign's content immediately, or start a timer and unlock the same content for free when it expires. We provide technology. We are not a charity, a fiduciary, an escrow agent, or a broker of donations. We do not verify an organizer's claims, their use of funds, or whether their campaign is a good idea. Money is collected by our payment processor and belongs to the campaign it was given to.

2.Nothing on your device is ever locked

The Platform never locks, disables, restricts or overlays your phone, your flashlight, your settings, your notifications, your home screen or any other application. Anything described as "locked" is content inside a page of this Platform, and only while you are viewing that page. Some campaigns display a countdown badge, a bar, or a browser-tab countdown while you wait. All of it exists inside the web page, can be moved or minimized, and disappears when you close the tab.

3.Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 to use the Platform, and at least 18 to create a fundraiser, donate, or enter a prize promotion. If you are between 13 and 18 you may participate only with the consent of a parent or guardian, and you may not donate. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at [CONTACT EMAIL] if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

4.Free participation

Every campaign offers a route that costs nothing: start the timer, wait the stated period, and unlock. We do not degrade, hide, delay or shorten that route for people who decline to donate, and organizers may not configure a campaign to do so.

5.Donations

Donations are voluntary and, unless the specific campaign states otherwise, are not tax deductible and are not refundable. A donation is only credited to a campaign after our payment processor confirms it. See the Donation Policy, which forms part of these terms. Choosing a larger amount unlocks the same content as the minimum amount and does not improve anyone's chance of winning a prize promotion.

6.Organizer responsibilities

If you publish a campaign you represent that: your description of the cause is accurate and not misleading; you will use funds for the stated purpose; you are permitted to raise funds for that purpose; and any prize promotion you run complies with the law everywhere you offer it. You are the sponsor of your own prize promotion. You are responsible for its official rules, its eligibility and geographic restrictions, any required registration or bonding, awarding the prize, and any tax reporting. Where your campaign restricts automatic entries to donors, you must publish a genuine free method of entry. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to display the content you publish for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform.

7.Prohibited use

Do not use the Platform to defraud anyone; to raise funds for illegal purposes or for a purpose other than the one you described; to run a lottery or an unlawful promotion; to harass anyone; to impersonate a person or organization; to upload malicious code; or to interfere with the Platform's operation or security. We may remove a campaign, withhold a payout, or suspend an account where we reasonably believe these terms have been broken.

8.Referrals

Sharing a challenge link is optional. Referral links carry a code identifying who shared them, so the campaign organizer can see who introduced whom. Do not send challenge links to people who have not agreed to hear from you, and do not send them in bulk to purchased or scraped lists.

9.Disclaimers

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error free. We make no representation about any campaign, organizer, cause or prize.

10.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither we nor our suppliers are liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Platform will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid through the Platform in the twelve months before the claim, or [LIABILITY CAP]. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the maximum extent permitted.

11.Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses and reasonable legal fees arising from your campaign, your prize promotion, your use of funds, your content, or your breach of these terms.

12.Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Platform at any time and may ask us to close your account. We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe these terms have been broken or where required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive it.

13.Disputes and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE / JURISDICTION], without regard to its conflict of laws rules. [DISPUTE RESOLUTION CLAUSE — counsel to specify whether disputes go to the courts of [VENUE], or to binding individual arbitration with a class-action waiver and an opt-out period.]

14.Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will give notice on the Platform before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Platform after that means you accept the updated terms.
